The Department of Zoology, Panjab University, Chandigarh has its alumni association. The association was established almost a decade ago with the aim of connecting the alumni with the department. The association supports the departmental goals and strengthen the ties between the alumni and the community. It acts as a platform through which the alumni contribute to the growth of the institute. An important aspect of the association is to contribute to the department by engaging with current students so that they have the necessary exposure to make informed decisions about life after their Bachelors, Masters and PhD programs. The association also hopes to create a network of alumni to promote personal and professional wellbeing of its members.

Aims

1. To create a strong association among the department and the alumni and the current students.
2. To seek funds for fellowship and scholarship for grant of awards to meritorious students.
3. To build a warm and harmonious bond among the alumni, faculty and the students.

Objectives

1. To plan social occasions and organise regular gatherings for the alumni.
2. To cultivate an environment for effective interchange of experiences and knowledge between students and alumni.
3. To honour such alumni who have been recognised for their contribution in their respective fields.
4. To publish half yearly magazines to keep informed the alumni of various departmental endeavours.

An annual alumni meet is hosted by the department to fulfil aims and objectives of ZDAA.
